When two teams bring a combined record of 24-1 into a game, as Alabama and LSU did last night, it is obvious that these are two teams that definitely do not stink. That said, they produced a game last night that most certainly did stink. Hey, I'm all for great defense, but surely a team that asp[ires to be National Champion would be able to produce a touchdown, or even be able to cross the 50 yard line. Yeah, I know that the Tide did score a touchdown and LSU did finally cross the 50, but both events happened late in the fourth quarter, after I had given up on this snoozer and gone to bed.
Couple of comments:
- Maybe this is what you get when you wait seven weeks to play your championship game.
- Kudos to Brent Musberger who somehow managed to stay excited during this yawnfest, although I could have used a few less references to the Honey Badger.
- Kudos also to Facebook, SABR buddy, and SEC Loyalist Madison McEntire for accusing Nick Saben of running up the score when he kicked a fourth field goal to go up 12-0. Great line.
