All RCIA candidates from across the Diocese head to St. Paul's Cathedral at 3:00 this afternoon for the "Rite of Election" before Bishop Zubik. St. John Neumann is sending seven candidates and their sponsors.
Imagine my surprise this afternoon, when I turned on my tv around 3:40 PM, and in front of me, both looking very elegant in black, were Mr. & Mrs. Grandstander, at the Cathedral! (I had yet to read the column, so this was quite a surprise.)
The camera was fixated on Bob, who just happened to be standing right behind Bishop Zubik's left shoulder(hem?)); the candidate, who has been doing all the studying and reflection, these past few months, was hidden behind a taller gentleman. Kind of reminded me of something our father would have done...
Sadly though, with the influx of candidates, the crowd shifted, and the camera lost sight of The Sproule's. It did pick them up though, when they were leaving the altar, walking down the steps.
It was a beautiful ceremony, and I hope they are enjoying themselves at the reception now. Me, catching them on the religious channel, @ 4:00 on a Sunday afternoon, is truly an example of "God's working in mysterious ways!"

Best Wishes to you both!
